Emaldo and Aire partner to unlock enhanced use of energy infrastructure for businesses across Sweden and Finland
The partnership allows for the optimisation of a business’ entire site, making optimal use of all its energy assets as one ecosystem
While Emaldo enables energy flexibility through the use of battery storage, Aire optimises how that flexibility is used by identifying when energy should be bought and sold to maximise financial returns
ØLSTYKKE, Denmark - October 6th 2026 - Danish smart energy systems provider Emaldo has partnered with Swedish energy optimisation company Aire to help businesses maximise earnings from their battery storage systems. The partnership will see customers of Emaldo’s commercial and industrial (C&I) solution, Emaldo One Business, provided with flexibility services to monetise their batteries on electricity markets.
As renewable energy grows, businesses have more opportunities to manage when and how they use, store and sell energy generated on-site. While expanding grid infrastructure remains essential to the energy transition, smarter use of existing energy assets can help businesses better manage changing energy prices, reduce costs and generate additional revenue.
Instead of treating a battery as an isolated energy storage asset, Aire provides whole-site optimisation, helping businesses coordinate energy production, consumption and storage rather than managing each asset separately. This brings different energy assets at a single site - such as solar panels, EV chargers, batteries and other electricity-consuming equipment - together as one connected ecosystem.
Paired with Emaldo’s energy storage solution, which combines battery hardware with AI energy management software and virtual power plant (VPP) aggregation, energy can be stored, used and sold into the market at the most valuable times. Emaldo’s technology provides the physical flexibility needed to store and shift energy, while Aire’s optimisation software determines how that flexibility can best be used across the site and energy markets to maximise profitability.
Alasdair Firth, Emaldo’s Chief Product Officer, said: “Energy storage is becoming about much more than simply storing surplus renewable energy. The real opportunity is in making batteries more responsive to what’s happening more broadly on sites and across the energy market. By working with Aire, we can help businesses get more value from their Emaldo system, using stored energy when it makes the most sense and adapting as market conditions change.”
Erik Tellman, Key Account Manager at Aire, said: “Businesses often have multiple energy assets operating independently, which can create some difficulties. The partnership between Aire and Emaldo brings these assets together, enabling energy production, storage and flexibility to work in harmony and generate higher revenues for customers. Emaldo’s strong presence and deep expertise in the energy market, combined with our real-time energy optimization technology, enables us to help businesses and asset owners gain greater control over their operations and how they use the energy.”
