Every Emaldo battery installed in a Hybrid Greentech-balanced household now trades in the same market as Hybrid Greentech's utility-scale fleet
ØLSTYKKE, Denmark - 25 AUGUST 2026 - Hybrid Greentech, the Danish balance responsible party (BRP) and energy trading company, has partnered with Emaldo, a Danish manufacturer and provider of battery storage systems for homes and businesses. Emaldo Home batteries installed in Danish households served by Hybrid Greentech-balanced retailers will now be traded live, alongside Hybrid Greentech’s utility-scale assets.
What this means
Hybrid Greentech already manages and trades a portfolio of utility-scale battery assets alongside the energy consumption and generation of thousands of households and businesses, including their EV chargers, heat pumps, and now their batteries. In practice, this means Hybrid Greentech forecasts, dispatches and trades every kilowatt-hour those used, produced, or stored by homes and businesses in real time.
Under the new partnership, every Emaldo One Home battery, Emaldo’s end-to-end smart energy solution for the residential market, installed in Danish households joins that trading portfolio automatically. On the customer side, usage and management of the system will remain unchanged: the retailer relationship, the bill, and the battery in the garage all stay the same. What changes is what the battery does behind the scenes. Instead of running on fixed local rules, it now trades intraday and into ancillary service markets as part of a much larger, actively managed portfolio.
Why scale matters
Nordic balancing markets set a minimum bid size of 1 MW per hour. No single home battery can meet that alone. By aggregating Emaldo's fleet into its existing retailer portfolios, Hybrid Greentech can enable a battery in one Danish home bid into the same market as its utility-scale assets.
This enhanced market access and trading capability made possible by Hybrid Greentech offers Emaldo’s Denmark-based residential customers enhanced earnings potential from their battery assets and, therefore, increased return on investment. While the partnership currently focuses on incorporating Emaldo One Home batteries, there is scope for it to extend outwards into Emaldo One Business, Emaldo’s commercial and industrial (C&I) offering, in the near future.
The trading model
Hybrid Greentech doesn't simply follow the day-ahead spot price. It buys energy when prices are low and sells when demand is high and prices rise, using direct access to intraday and ancillary service markets. This gives Hybrid Greentech direct control as the retailer's sole BRP, with no second party settling trades in between and no cap on how much battery capacity reaches the market.
Rasmus Rode Mosbæk, Hybrid Greentech’s CEO, said: "We already balance several retailers and thousands of households. We don't just optimise a battery, we trade the home it sits in. Emaldo batteries in those homes are now full participants in one of the most actively traded distributed portfolios in the Nordic market."
Alasdair Firth, Emaldo’s Chief Product Officer, added: "Our batteries are engineered to perform. Partnering with Hybrid Greentech means that performance now shows up in the market itself, not just on a household dashboard. It means our customers gain more value from their assets and become active participants in our evolving energy system."
Proven at scale
Hybrid Greentech runs this model today across live utility-scale battery storage. It also aggregates over 80,000 EV chargers, the largest cross-operator EV platform in Denmark, and several thousand residential heat pumps. All of it runs on a single, fully automated trading engine, with no trading desk required. The Emaldo partnership extends that same engine down to a single home battery.
Hybrid Greentech is connectivity-partner agnostic and works with Emaldo's existing hardware unchanged. Emaldo continues to design, manufacture, and install its systems; Hybrid Greentech adds balance responsibility, trading, and settlement on top.
