Dutch renewable energy optimiser Eddy Grid to offer Emaldo’s Dutch C&I customers greater market access and battery optimisation using smart algorithms
The partnership unlocks increased earnings potential for businesses using Emaldo’s battery system
The Dutch market is affected by grid congestion and a need for more flexible renewable energy management, resulting in high uptake for battery storage solutions
ØLSTYKKE, Denmark - 13 AUGUST 2026 - Smart energy solutions provider Emaldo has partnered with Dutch renewable energy optimiser Eddy Grid to provide its commercial battery customers in the Netherlands with energy trading, market access services and optimisation via smart algorithms.
The Netherlands has one of Europe’s most congested grid networks due to significant renewable energy production and electrification levels, which has led to strong uptake of commercial battery storage solutions. As the market develops, demand is rising for technologies that help businesses to manage their own energy system, make better use of on-site renewable generation and generate additional revenue through participation in electricity and flexibility markets.
Through the partnership, customers of Emaldo's integrated commercial battery solutions will gain access to Eddy Grid's optimisation platform, enabling battery systems to participate in the Day-Ahead, Intraday, Imbalance, aFRR and ancillary service markets while automating trading and operational control to maximise revenues.
Eddy Grid specialises in optimising commercial battery storage, combining energy supply, optimisation and balancing services to help businesses balance the energy grid and maximise the value generated by battery, solar and wind assets.
The partnership will initially focus on the Dutch market, with scope for expansion into Belgium, Germany and other European markets in line with the growth plans of the partners.
The Eddy Grid partnership is the latest of Emaldo’s efforts to build an ecosystem of local flexibility and optimisation partners across its European markets. By combining Emaldo's battery platform with the expertise of trusted specialists, customers gain access to local market expertise, broader revenue opportunities and best-in-class optimisation as energy markets continue to evolve.
Alasadair Firth, Emaldo’s Chief Product Officer, said: “Commercial battery storage is becoming an increasingly important part of the Dutch energy transition, but customers need more than hardware to maximise its potential. By partnering with Eddy Grid, we're combining our battery systems with sophisticated market access and optimisation services to deliver a complete solution for commercial customers.”
Sam Rohn, CEO and co-founder of Eddy Grid, said: “As the energy system in the Netherlands becomes smarter and more flexible, the ability to optimise battery assets across multiple electricity markets is becoming increasingly important. We're pleased to partner with Emaldo to bring our trading and optimisation expertise to more commercial battery systems and help support a more flexible electricity system.”
