By combining backup power with solar energy storage, this project strengthens the resilience of critical water infrastructure, keeping the Faaborg pump station operational during grid outages while maximising the value of locally generated renewable energy. Delivered in just eight weeks end-to-end, the installation includes five Z-Box-C systems (105 kW / 215 kWh each) and an 800 kW STS backup solution. The majority of the battery capacity is reserved for blackout protection to ensure continuous pump operation, while surplus capacity is used for solar energy optimisation and energy arbitrage.
